At the House of the Virgin Mary, the shadows of the trees gave a quiet atmosphere that worked well for more personal shots, not just tourist poses. Our guide used the drive in the private van to explain the history without rushing, and pointed out specific angles for photos when the sun started to drop. It was quite hot earlier in the day and there was a short wait at one of the entrances, so water and a hat were essential. Pick-up was exactly on time and the private transport was clean and well air-conditioned, which mattered in early June heat. The guide managed the timing at Ephesus well, giving us enough time at the library and the theatre without rushing, even if we had a short wait at the parking area while tickets were sorted. Entrance fees and drinks were clearly not included, so there were no surprises. Overall, a very well-organised day for a solo traveller who values smooth logistics.
Arriving with friends at Ephesus after a cool spring morning coffee stop, the guide’s stories made the ruins and the House of Virgin Mary feel very alive. Slight wait at the parking, otherwise smooth.
